Forest Operations
In 1998 Gunns' forest operations were certified to ISO 14001. Gunns
was the first forest company in Australia to achieve this international
recognition.
Processing Operations
The group's four export wood fibre processing facilities were certified
in 1998. An extension of Gunns Environmental Management System was
concluded in February 2004, certifying the company's six hardwood
sawmills to ISO 14001. Gunns now has ten processing facilities and
all its freehold and private property forest operations externally
certified to the ISO 14001 standard, providing clear evidence of
Gunns Limited's commitment to meet global standards of sustainability
and environmental management.
